e-conomic.

01

What it does

The Cimalys e-conomic integration lets an AI assistant answer questions about your accounting by reading directly from your books. Instead of exporting a report and reading it yourself, you ask: what is overdue, which customers owe the most, how does this quarter compare to last.

It is built for finance leads and owners who already keep their accounting in e-conomic and want answers without opening the system or waiting for a bookkeeper to pull a list.

02

Read-only, by design

The integration cannot create, edit, book, or delete anything in your accounting system. Only read operations are exposed, so the boundary is enforced by the integration itself rather than by trusting the permissions on a key. An assistant using it can tell you what your books say. It cannot change what they say.

03

What it reads

InvoicesBooked, draft, unpaid and overdue, filtered by date range.
CustomersThe debtor list, searchable by name.
SuppliersThe creditor list.
AccountsThe chart of accounts with current balances.
ProductsThe product catalogue with prices.
Accounting yearsFinancial periods and whether each is open or closed.
04

Built for groups, not just single companies

Most accounting integrations assume one company. Many businesses are not one company. A group with a Danish operating company, a German subsidiary, a US entity and a holding company keeps four separate sets of books in e-conomic.

This integration connects as many of them as you have. You ask about a named company and get that company's numbers. If several are connected and you do not name one, it asks which rather than guessing, because handing a finance lead the wrong subsidiary's figures is worse than asking a question.

05

How connecting works

You grant access from inside e-conomic. Cimalys sends you an installation link, you open it and approve access for the specific agreement you want connected, and e-conomic issues a grant token for those books only.

You can revoke that grant yourself at any time from within e-conomic, without going through Cimalys. Access ends immediately when you do.

06

It stores nothing

The integration is a pass-through. Your assistant asks a question, the integration relays it to your books, your books answer, and the answer goes straight back. Nothing is copied, cached, mirrored, or indexed along the way. When the request finishes, nothing about it remains.

That is worth being precise about, because most integrations are not built this way. There is no second copy of your accounts sitting on someone else's server, no nightly sync, and no database of your invoices to be breached or subpoenaed. Your access token is not held either: it travels with each request from your own system and is gone the moment the request is answered. You can revoke it from inside e-conomic whenever you like, without asking us.

The integration runs on Cimalys infrastructure in the European Union, in a German datacentre. The one secret held on that server is Cimalys's own application credential, which identifies the integration to e-conomic and can read nothing on its own without a customer's grant. It sits in a root-only environment file, never in source control and never in a database. Traffic is encrypted in transit and the service is reachable only on the ports required to run it.

Cimalys acts as your processor for anything read through the integration. The data processing agreement sets out that relationship, and the licence terms govern use of the integration itself.
